An Historic Event Not to be Missed, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje to Give a Public Talk at Calgary’s Jack Singer Concert Hall

His Holiness the 17th Karmapa is coming to YYC on His historical premiere visit to Canada. His other stops include Toronto and Vancouver.

Calgary’s stop is shorter than the other two, but really shouldn’t be missed. This public talk by His Holiness was originally scheduled to take place in a smaller venue, but the Jack Singer Concert Hall became available and the Tibetan Association of Alberta snapped it up! Please take advantage of this incredibly rare opportunity to hear His Holiness speak. It is said that merely seeing His Holiness ensures that a person can avoid rebirth in lower realms for many lifetimes.

The tickets are inexpensive, the venue is fantastic, and there couldn’t (in my opinion) be a more worthwhile speaker to go and see.

Ordained Sangha (monks and nuns) may attend this event free of charge, but must register as Ordained Sangha, providing a letter from your temple, monastery or preceptor etc, as proof of ordination, with the Karma Kagyu Assoc. of Canada and the Tibetan Assoc. of Alberta before the cut-off date for sangha registration.

Ensure you read the information on security protocols and procedures in place for this event before leaving home to attend His Holiness’ talk. Please note that no recording of any portion of the event by any means will be permitted. As well, what you bring in to the event is restricted. Make sure you read the Important Information page I linked to above so you can speed through security and get to your seat!

The Tibetan community will have a private group audience with His Holiness. This portion of His Holiness’ visit will not be open to ticket holders or the public, in general.
