Until the Next Time

His Holiness the 17th Gylawang Karmapa wrapped up His premiere Canadian tour on the West coast. The major event in B.C. was inarguably His Holiness' teachings on and empowerment of Akshobya, which were granted in Vancouver at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre where roughly 2000 lay and ordained men and women gathered for the historical event.

His Holiness also appeared on the campus of UBC to participate in a public talk with Wade Davis that touched on many subjects and was full of humour and wisdom. His Holiness did say that He intends to return to Canada and joked with the audience by saying He would leave some of the audience's questions unanswered so that He could tell the Indian government that He MUST return to Canada because He still had to answer some questions.

Between His visit to Calgary, AB and His visits to many locations in and around Vancouver, BC, His Holiness visited Banff, AB and took in the beauty of Alberta's Rocky Mountains.

My hope is that next time Buddha Karmapa comes to Western Canada He will have more time to explore places like Jasper, Lake Louise and the Icefields Parkway.

So, Buddha Karmapa has left Canada, for now. And I am hopeful that I will be able to see Him again in this lifetime. He touched many lives in Canada, and made many Dharma connections as well as re-establishing ones that He'd made as the 16th Gyalwang Karmapa.

Karmapa Chenno!
